About TexStrings All-State Camp

Daniel Saenz, Camp Founder & Director
The TexStrings All-State Camp began in 2008 in the living room of its founder, Daniel Saenz. Very soon the camp sought a more spacious location as the attendees doubled in number in the camp’s second and third year. Now, the TexStrings Camp serves about 100 students each year and assists many of them in achieving their goals of making the Region and Texas All-State orchestras.

New For 2022
This we are offering two intensive camps in Katy and Clear Lake. We are also thrilled to introduce our inaugural Earn Your Way: Summer Practice Pledge Fundraiser. During the months of May and June students can pledge to practice for a certain amount of time that works for them and seek sponsorships to reach their practice goals! Think of it like a walk-a-thon…but for practicing your instrument.
By raising funds, students can earn Brazos Bucks to go towards their tuition for TexStrings All-State Camp, Houston Fiddle Week, or any other Brazos Program while giving back to their community by supporting the mission of Brazos Music. In addition to raising funds to attend camp, donations will help Brazos Music launch new programs including 1) A scholarship fund for all Brazos Music related camps and programs including TexStrings All-State Camp, Houston Fiddle Week, and Houston Orchestra For All and 2) Provide Region/All-State events during the school year.

Class sizes cary, but most class sizes are limited to 8-10 students per class. We strive to keep the class size small to make sure teachers can give individual attention to each student.
Classes are divided into three levels:
Advanced – Former All-State members or those who have learned both of their etudes completely.
Intermediate – Students who haven’t learned their etudes yet, but are interested in learning the All-State excerpts for auditioning.
Beginner – Students who are interested in auditioning for Region only
If you are unsure of which class you should be in, ask your private teacher, orchestra director, or contact us.
Unfortunately, unforeseen events happen. We are unable to reimburse you for any missed days since our instructors are hired several months ahead of time.
Please bring your instrument, a folding music stand, rock stop (cello and bass), pencils, notebook, a copy of the required all-state etudes and orchestral excerpts, and a “ready to learn” attitude!
If you cancel before July 1, you will receive a 100% refund on your registration fee minus the $35 processing fee.
If you cancel before July 8, you will receive a 75% refund on your registration fee minus the $35 processing fee.
If you cancel before July 15, you will receive a 50% refund on your registration fee minus the $35 processing fee.
